A Message on Israel & Palestine

From the Nevei Kodesh Board, Spiritual Leadership, and Staff

The current cycle of horrific violence in Israel and Palestine that began with Hamas’ terrorist attack on October 7, 2023, breaks our hearts and challenges our community’s commitment to Olam Chesed Yibaneh (Psalm 89:3) — Empowering Kindness — in our lives and in the world.

Many of us feel anger, fear, grief, numbness, sadness, as well as compassion, empathy, and a host of other emotions; our unique complicated and conflicting feelings are all valid and natural responses to what is happening. Our commitment to hold one another with and through these intense feelings as a community remains unwavering.

Listening Circles with Ziva Moyal

Thursday, April 18 and May 2 | In person |  5:00 PM - 6:15 PM

Join our community for a listening circle this Thursday, April 18, in person at Congregation Nevei Kodesh.

Ziva Moyal, who is Israeli and has lived through 6 wars in Israel herself, is a certified group therapist and has been facilitating supportive groups for many years. She will create a safe and respectful gathering where members of Congregation Nevei Kodesh can share what we are holding in our hearts and listen with respect, kindness and empathy to one another. This listening circle – a special container inspired by the indigenous traditions, where members can share and hear from others about their feelings and concerns – will also be a place to learn a couple of new and helpful techniques to cope with our current reality in a more self-supporting way.

Additional circles may be offered if desired.

Please register in advance.
